About the Role

The New Equipment and Modernizations Sales Operations Engineer (SOE) receives requests for proposals from Account Managers or other Sales channels then determines the appropiate R.A Jones machine solution, develops the Cost/Pricing Worksheet and prepares the proposal. When we receive an order, the SOE prepares the Order Card and conducts the Order Card meeting at which time the order is handed off to the Project Manager.

In this role you are responsible for:

• Provide technical expertise and support to the Area Sales Managers and customers for R.A Jones new equipment
• Configure the machine to be quoted based on the RFQ Checklist submitted
• Assist Area Sales Managers with machine capabilities and ballpark pricing for project screening
• Meet with Engineering to determine concepts and cost estimates for custom machine content
• Preliminary review of customer’s specifications to determine the appropriate stakeholders
• Prepare and submit Firm Proposal Approval forms as needed for firm proposals
• Keep the CRM system current for all assigned Opportunities
• Responsible for updating and keeping current all Cost Worksheet templates and all proposal templates for their assigned machine lines
• Prepare Order Card when a PO is received for a machine they proposed. Conduct the Order Card Meeting and hand off to Project Management

What You Need to Be Successful

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combined experience with an emphasis on technical selling
• Strong customer service, leadership, and sales support skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to demonstrate active listening, organized presentation, and effective writing skills. Persuasive in interactions with others.
• Must have a strong working knowledge of computers applications including Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, and PowerPoint) and the ability to effectively utilize CRM tools such as Microsoft Dynamics
• Ability to travel to customer locations as needed in support of sales.
• Ability to present and communicate new equipment and modernizations offerings with technical confidence
• Demonstrated ability to successfully exceed aggressive sales development targets and strategies
