Angela Adams Designs, a Portland based Home brand known nationally for hand crafted textiles, furnishings and accessories is seeking a Trade Sales & Showroom Advisor for the downtown Portland showroom, supporting both in-store visitors and industry professionals.
The position requires an energetic sales person that has the ability to nurture and grow an existing customer base, while building new business through the consumer and interior design trade industry.
This role will work closely with the Sales and Leadership team to develop and implement strategic prospecting strategies that will identify, attract and close sales opportunities with both Consumers and Interior Designers.
While this role is based in Portland as a member of our showroom team, the impact extends beyond Maine, as you support both inbound requests and proactive outbound outreach to build relationships throughout the East Coast.
The ability to successfully act as an ambassador for the brand at key networking events, generating awareness, building new relationships and developing opportunities for sales growth will set this role up for success. This position is generally required to be on-site in the Portland showroom, with up to 2 days per week of remote work possible depending on store coverage schedules.
Required skills:
- Strong sales and communication skills via in-person, email, social media and telephone
- Ability to achieve monthly and annual sales goals by identifying and using successful sales strategies and tactics
- Proven success in Sales and Customer Service, ideally supporting a luxury or home furnishings market.
- Experience in generating, prioritizing and closing sales leads
- Ability to identify customers’ needs and provide the salesmanship and support to close sales, earning and nurturing long lasting customer relationships
- Organizational skills to create and implement strategic and effective prospecting and follow up
- Manage customers throughout the sales cycle utilizing CRM systems
- Confidence to conduct professional presentations – in-person, teleconference and email
- A true team player who is willing to partner with other members of the sales team to provide an unmatched customer experience
- Confidence to work with color and pattern, assisting customers with design decisions
