Role DescriptionThe Community Engineer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Kentucky, United States, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for designing and implementing community programs, systems, and processes that support engagement, outreach, and collaboration. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating community events and initiatives, maintaining communication with community members and partners, collecting feedback, and analyzing participation data to improve programs.
The Community Engineer will develop guidelines, tools, and workflows that make community interactions more efficient and accessible, while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. This role also involves documenting best practices, monitoring outcomes, and recommending improvements that align with the organization’s mission and values.
- Demonstrated ability to design and manage community-focused programs, initiatives, or projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including experience engaging diverse groups and building long-term relationships.
- Experience with organizing events, coordinating logistics, and managing stakeholder expectations.
- Ability to collect, interpret, and apply feedback and data to improve community processes and outcomes.
- Comfort with digital tools for communication, collaboration, and basic data tracking (e.g., email platforms, collaboration suites, spreadsheets).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment.
- Experience in community development, social impact, nonprofit, or related fields is beneficial.
- Relevant education or training in fields such as social sciences, community development, communication, or a related discipline is preferred but not required.
