The Agency Development Manager role is a full-time hybrid position based in McKinney, TX, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and developing agency team members, including sales representatives and managers, to drive growth within the local market. The Agency Development Manager will coach and mentor team members on sales strategies, product knowledge, and effective enrollment approaches, while monitoring performance metrics and implementing improvement plans.
Day-to-day tasks include building and maintaining relationships with employer clients and brokers, overseeing territory development activities, and coordinating marketing and outreach efforts. The role also involves collaborating with internal partners, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations, and representing Colonial Life at networking events and community engagements.
- Demonstrated experience in sales leadership, agency or team management, and performance coaching.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and client service skills to work effectively with employers, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to develop local market strategies, manage pipelines, and interpret sales and productivity data to drive growth.
- Proficiency with basic business software tools, virtual collaboration platforms, and CRM or sales tracking systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to groups and facilitating training sessions.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, balancing office and remote responsibilities.
- Prior experience in insurance, employee benefits, or financial services is strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for client meetings, recruitment events, and agency activities.
