Objectives
- Drive demand for assigned products by reinforcing brand and Takeda value.
- Present Takeda products and optimize business opportunities in targeted physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts in the IBD specialty area.
- Develop and apply business processes to achieve sales goals and objectives in/around the Seattle, WA territory.
- Support account onboarding, education, and procedures.
- Perform clinical selling and deliver clinical value propositions.
- Provide clinical education and in-service for medical staff (e.g., infusion procedures).
- Coordinate clinical education opportunities (e.g., peer-to-peer discussions).
- Manage smaller/less complex GI practices, clinics, outlets, and independent physician offices.
- Achieve territory sales goals and key metrics; execute brand strategy/tactics within assigned customer segments.
- Build relationships with HCPs and decision makers to support product use.
- Deliver targeted sales messages using accurate clinical information and approved materials.
- Execute local marketing strategies; cultivate customer engagement through local decision-maker relationships.
- Present complex clinical and business information to gastroenterology and healthcare audiences.
- Develop and implement medical education and sponsor programs; stay current on disease states/treatments.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (financial/budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office, etc.).
- BA/BS.
- 3+ years successful selling experience in pharma/biotech/medical device (or relevant clinical/industry experience), OR 2+ years successful selling experience at Takeda (5 years preferred).
- Business/strategic planning skills; adaptability.
- Team collaboration.
- Managed care landscape understanding.
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication.
- Reside within or close to assigned geography.
- Experience with injectable/infused IBD products.
- Experience with complex reimbursement issues.
- Biological product launch experience.
- Calling on gastroenterologists.
- Discussing therapeutic strategies to influence decision makers.
- Experience executing local marketing strategies.
- Minimum 5 years direct selling to HCPs in pharma/biotech/device/healthcare.
- Must pass mandatory product training (written/oral exams); training includes live instruction, study, role play (up to 8 hrs/day; 40 hrs/week).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Drive/fly to meetings and client sites; some overnight travel (25–50%).
