Carex is partnering with a Medtech startup partner to hire an Account Executive responsible for building and growing a field-based territory based out of Minneapolis, MN and covering Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and eastern Montana. This is a high-activity sales role for a driven, early-career sales professional who thrives on prospecting, developing a territory from the ground up, and consistently exceeding revenue goals.
The ideal candidate brings a true hunter mentality, a demonstrated history of sales performance, and the discipline to spend significant time in the field developing relationships and creating new business. Healthcare or sleep medicine experience is a plus, but proven success in a high-volume, competitive sales environment and measurable sales accomplishments are the priority.
Candidates must be based in Minneapolis, MN and should expect to spend approximately 75% of their time traveling and working in the field throughout the assigned territory.
What You'll Do
- Build and develop a multi-state territory from the ground up through consistent prospecting, relationship building, and new business development.
- Maintain a high level of field activity, spending approximately 75% of the role meeting with prospects and customers throughout the assigned territory.
- Identify prospective customers and generate, qualify, and convert leads into new business.
- Consistently work toward exceeding monthly revenue quotas and broader sales targets.
- Develop relationships with sleep medicine professionals, referring physicians, and other relevant healthcare stakeholders.
- Understand prospective customers' needs and effectively position technology solutions that improve healthcare workflows and outcomes.
- Coordinate the sales process with marketing and technical sales resources, including product demonstrations.
- Partner with sales leadership on contract and pricing negotiations.
- Maintain accurate and timely customer, pipeline, and activity information within the CRM.
- Collaborate with marketing and cross-functional partners to develop and refine territory, sales, and go-to-market strategies.
- Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and onsite demonstrations.
- Take ownership of territory performance and demonstrate the persistence, creativity, and activity level required to create opportunities in an undeveloped market.
- 2–5 years of account executive, business development, or related sales experience.
- Demonstrated success in a high-volume, competitive sales environment where consistent prospecting and new customer acquisition are critical.
- Experience building or developing a sales territory from zero or establishing a meaningful book of new business.
- Documented sales results and recognition, such as President's Club, Top Performer, Rookie of the Year, quota attainment awards, rankings, or similar accomplishments.
- A strong hunter mentality with the ability to creatively identify prospects, open doors, and generate new opportunities.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% throughout a multi-state territory.
- Residence in the Minneapolis, MN area.
- Experience using a CRM platform such as Hub Spot or Salesforce.
- Strong business acumen, work ethic, interpersonal skills, and ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with remote, hybrid, and cross-functional teams.
