Role

Informatics Sales Manager – responsible for overseeing Quidel Ortho Results Manager informatics sales and managing Data Innovations placements with Vitros Automation Solutions. The role leads the sales process, demonstrates product expertise, sells to executive‑level professionals, and expands Quidel Ortho Automation Solutions in the assigned territory.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Quidel Ortho Results Manager opportunities in existing and prospective customer sites.
  • Oversee creation, review, and implementation of bids, quotes, and RFPs while acting as the subject‑matter expert on Quidel Ortho Results Manager informatics solutions.
  • Partner with Area Automation Managers, Business Development Managers, and Account Managers to acquire new accounts and convert competitive accounts.
  • Use value‑based selling to demonstrate product capabilities and manage high‑probability sales opportunities to closing.
  • Maximize retention through Quidel Ortho Results Manager middleware solutions and ensure exceptional customer experiences.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and influencers to support the overall informatics strategy.
  • Collaborate with regional sales teams to develop and execute strategic territory and account plans involving informatics.
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts, account updates, and activity reports using the CRM system.
  • Work with the Director, Integrated Sales Solutions to identify opportunities for informatics placements and upgrades.
  • Tailor the sales process to each customer’s specific needs and business challenges, working closely with internal teams to ensure satisfaction.
  • Analyze data to identify market trends and inform internal teams of changes that could impact strategy.
  • Perform other work‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree in Business, Life Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of B2B capital equipment acquisition sales experience; 5 years in healthcare required, 7 preferred.
  • Experience developing customer need for laboratory automation solutions and executing a sales process.
  • Proficient in uncovering key business issues and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Independent worker, capable of delivering results with minimal supervision.
  • Business acumen, insight selling, opportunity management.
  • Enterprise and large account management experience.
Travel

Up to 70% domestic overnight travel.

Work Environment

Typical outside sales environment. Requires discipline, organization, and self‑motivation to work autonomously in a home office setting. Travel is required up to 70%.

Salary

$89,000 – $115,000 annually; eligible for incentive compensation.
