The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a key contributor to the Americas Go to Market Sales Strategy. The BDR qualifies leads and actively sells Siemens EDA products while working in a team environment and with various sales channels. The BDR collaborates well with others while driving the sales process and meeting individual sales goals. The BDR qualifies product and training opportunities, over the phone and working on various initiatives/projects as they are introduced.
As such, this is a sales role that requires a self-starter and relationship builder. The BDR is responsible for opening new accounts or new departments in existing customer base. Works directly with selling teams, in an assigned region, to identify, penetrate, and cultivate new business opportunities. Execution of new business strategies will include research, cold calling, social selling and advanced qualifications.
Team members will set meetings, schedule technical resources, track activity and proactively update selling teams on next steps for new and developing opportunities.
- Independently execute outbound prospecting and qualification activities across assigned segments
- Identify, engage, and navigate customer organizations to reach key decision makers and influencers
- Plan and adapt outreach strategies aligned to campaigns and target segments
- Conduct structured discovery and needs assessment to qualify opportunities
- Build and sustain prospect engagement through coordinated multi-channel outreach (phone, digital, social, email)
- Manage progression of opportunities through qualification stages, ensuring readiness for sales handover
- Maintain accurate CRM data and ensure strong pipeline visibility and follow-up discipline
- Apply sound judgment in prioritizing accounts, opportunities, and outreach efforts
- Collaborate proactively with sales teams and partners on pursuit strategy, ownership, and next steps
- Handle semi-routine assignments, adjusting approach based on customer context
- Recognize when escalation or support is required and act accordingly
- Strong prospecting and relationship-building capability
- Confident communication across organizational levels
- Ability to adapt to messaging and engagement strategies
- Solid CRM proficiency and pipeline management
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Self-driven and performance-oriented
- Demonstrated experience in sales development, prospecting, or qualification roles
- Proven ability to manage structured outbound activities
- Experience working with CRM systems
- Technical or engineering background beneficial but not required
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Normal office environment. Often requested to work long hours at quarter-end, at times of key project roll out periods or in the Management support or back-up roles

The pay range for this position is $39.27 to $78.55 per hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
