• Assess and diagnose the current business environment in assigned accounts for Amgen Cardiovascular products
• Plan and execute actions for success in assigned accounts
• Serve as strategic lead for assigned key accounts and execute compliant strategies to engage priority providers
• Ensure institutional availability across inpatient and ambulatory care settings
• Lead implementation initiatives supporting sustainable institution/system utilization
• Develop and execute comprehensive account plans aligned with cardiovascular business strategy
• Collaborate with field teams and medical science liaisons
• Meet with opinion leaders and decision-makers in cardiology, lipidology, pharmacy and P&T committees
• Present MAC-approved data/messages in compliance with governing policies
• Drive appropriate utilization of approved cardiovascular products
• Coordinate pull-through and access initiatives across sales and reimbursement/access teams
• Monitor account performance, Amgen Cardiovascular business performance and market dynamics
• Identify barriers and coordinate pull-through initiatives across field teams
• Coordinate Amgen home-office engagement, approved programs, displays and hospital initiatives
• Build professional relationships with hospital pharmacy, clinical, quality and finance decision-makers
• Coordinate with Access Specialists to support open access to the Amgen portfolio
• Provide field intelligence, insights and recommendations to Business Analytics, Brand and Market Access teams
• Report to a Cardiovascular Accounts Director
- Doctorate degree & 2 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience, or Master’s degree & 4 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience, or Bachelor’s degree & 6 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience
- 3+ years of account management and/or public payor experience strongly preferred
- Advanced degree (e.g. MPH, MBA, PharmD, etc.) and 7+ years of healthcare sales and/or marketing experience or related experience in buying processes and decision making preferred
- Clinic, hospital, dyslipidemia, heart failure, access environment, applicable competitors, and industry experience preferred
- Cardiology experience, including dyslipidemia, heart failure and acute coronary syndromes, highly preferred
- Solid understanding of the current environment and trends in community cardiology practices
- Understanding of internal and external dynamics in dyslipidemia and heart failure
- Knowledge of hospital committee structure, P&T process, treatment and discharge protocols, DRG and hospital reimbursement processes
- Functional knowledge of Medicare and Government agencies
- Knowledge of payor systems
- Knowledge of CMS policies and processes
- Documented ability to work with sales force to resolve payor-related issues
- Leadership ability focused on influence, impact and leading without authority
- Ability to identify key staff and departments influencing biopharmaceutical product utilization and maintain relationships with decision-makers
- Ability to identify and procure appropriate Amgen resources to achieve account objectives
- Ability to analyze clinic economics/financial performance and varying data sources
- Excellent interpersonal, networking, influencing, negotiation, presentation, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple competing priorities
- Creative problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently
