The Outside Sales Representative role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Cape May County and Atlantic county NJ, with some flexibility for work from home when appropriate. In this role, the representative will visit existing and prospective customers in the field, conduct needs assessments, and deliver sales presentations that demonstrate the value of Kimball Midwest’s MRO products and programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include generating new business, managing a sales territory, maintaining regular contact with customers, and ensuring prompt follow-up on inquiries and orders.
The representative will build and nurture long-term relationships, provide responsive customer service, and collaborate with internal teams to support product solutions and account growth. This role involves setting and achieving sales goals, accurately documenting activities in a CRM system, and continuously developing product and industry knowledge.
- Strong skills in Sales Presentations and New Business Development to effectively grow and manage a territory.
- Demonstrated Relationship Building and Customer Service abilities to support long-term customer partnerships.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and professional interpersonal interaction.
- Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in industrial, MRO, or related fields.
- Ability to work independently in the field, manage time well, and prioritize multiple accounts and tasks.
- Comfort with using CRM systems, mobile technology, and basic office software to track activities and prepare reports.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regular travel within the assigned territory.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, sales, or related areas is beneficial.
- Willingness to learn product lines, participate in ongoing training, and adapt to changing customer needs.
