Our client is a manufacturer of renewable resource based specialty chemicals. Their fastest growing business segment requires an experienced industrial chemical sales professional to expand sales of intermediary and building block materials to oilfield chemical formulators. This is a home office based role ideally located in the greater Houston, TX area.
Responsibilities- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the oilfield chemicals market by proactively developing relationships with key industry players.
- Promote new and existing products by supporting customer evaluations and testing.
- Manage all account activities to organically grow business.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts and supply agreements to maximize profitability.
- Create effective sales reports, call reports, forecasts and presentations.
- Meet all territory sales targets and budgets.
- Provide technical support to customers and apply company technical resources as required.
- Participate in relevant industry organizations, trade shows and meetings to develop relationships and learn industry trends and drivers.
- Collaborate effectively across internal departments including R&D, customer service, marketing, production and management.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline, Business or related.
- At least 5 years of industrial experience selling chemical raw materials and intermediates to formulators of drilling fluids, stimulation chemicals and production products used in oilfield applications.
- Technical mindset that can be used to sell product performance and value in use.
- Understanding for oilfield chemical dynamics and competitive landscape.
- Existing relationships at key industry players and ability to develop new relationships.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently from home office within the territory.
- Expertise in building new opportunity pipeline and bringing opportunities through the process to commercial sales.
- Ability to travel approximately 30% of time.
