HVAC Sales Estimator

We are seeking a results-driven Commercial HVAC Estimator & Sales Representative to support growth across the Arizona market. This hybrid role combines technical estimating expertise with relationship-based sales, targeting new construction, tenant improvement, retrofit, and service opportunities. The ideal candidate understands regional market conditions, excels at interpreting plans/specs, and can confidently guide customers from concept through project close.

• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents for commercial HVAC systems
• Perform accurate takeoffs and develop detailed cost estimates (labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors)
• Solicit and evaluate vendor/subcontractor pricing
• Identify value engineering opportunities and present alternatives
• Prepare bid proposals, scope clarifications, and exclusions
• Maintain estimating database and historical cost records relevant to Arizona conditions

• Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, property managers, and owners
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across commercial sectors (office, healthcare, industrial, education, retail)
• Conduct site visits, client meetings, and needs assessments
• Present proposals, negotiate pricing, and close deals
• Track leads, bids, and pipeline activity using CRM tools

• Coordinate with project managers to ensure smooth transition from awarded jobs to execution
• Participate in kickoff meetings and assist with scope alignment
• Support change order pricing and client communication throughout project lifecycle

• Stay current with Arizona codes, energy standards, and permitting processes
• Monitor local market trends, labor conditions, and competitor activity

• 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC estimating, sales, or project management
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (RTUs, VRF, chillers, boilers, ductwork, controls)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to travel locally

• Experience in the Arizona or Southwest U.S. construction market
• Experience with Wet-Side Mechanical and Plumbing Estimation
• Familiarity with software such as Bluebeam, Pro-Core, Trimble, FastEST or similar estimating tools
• Established network of local contractors, developers, or facility managers
• Background in mechanical contracting or engineering
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
• Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
• Base salary + commission/bonus structure tied to sales and awarded projects
