THE ROLE
6th Man Movers is looking for an energetic, competitive Outbound Sales Representative who is comfortable spending a large part of the day on the phone.
This is an in-office sales position in Nashville. It is not a remote or work-from-home role.
Being physically part of the team is important to how we sell.
Our sales operation runs through a classic control-center sales office where leads, opportunities, conversations, and next steps are visible to the team. Information moves quickly. Salespeople collaborate in real time, ask questions, hand opportunities off, celebrate wins, and help each other advance the ball.
We want someone who enjoys that environment: headset on, phones moving, conversations happening, and a team working together toward the same scoreboard.
This is also not an inbound lead-answering position.
Your job is to dial out, create conversations, revive opportunities, and advance the ball.
You’ll work specific sales lanes where persistence and great communication matter: older moving opportunities that have gone quiet, customers who need to be re-engaged, targeted outbound campaigns, and outreach for our affiliated fundraising business.
YOUR JOB ISN'T TO MAKE CALLS. IT'S TO CREATE OUTCOMES.
Yes, you’ll make a lot of calls.
But we don’t believe a dial by itself is a win.
Your job is to create an outcome and make the pipeline clearer than it was before you picked up the phone.
A successful conversation might mean:
- Booking the move
- Scheduling an onsite or virtual estimate
- Making a live handoff to a more experienced sales leader
- Establishing the right time to reconnect and discuss the customer’s Game Plan
- Reactivating an opportunity that had gone quiet
- Establishing a clear next step
- Learning that the customer selected another company and properly closing out the opportunity
Even a definitive “we went with someone else” has value. Now the team knows where the opportunity stands and can focus its time and energy somewhere else.
We call this advancing the ball.
Every conversation should either move an opportunity forward or give the team better information about what happens next.
WHAT YOU'LL DO Re-Engage Moving OpportunitiesYou’ll work our existing database of moving customers and opportunities that need another conversation.
You’ll find out where the customer is in their decision and determine the appropriate next step.
Sometimes you’ll close the opportunity yourself.
Other times you’ll schedule an onsite estimate, transfer the customer to a more experienced salesperson, establish a specific follow-up time, or uncover the information the team needs to move forward.
The goal isn’t simply to “follow up.”
It’s to advance the opportunity.
Outbound ProspectingYou’ll work targeted outbound lists and campaigns identified by our sales and leadership team.
You’ll make a high volume of outbound calls, leave effective voicemails, send follow-up messages, document conversations, and consistently work your assigned pipeline.
Fundraising OutreachYou’ll also make outbound calls for our affiliated school fundraising company.
You’ll create conversations with:
- Coaches
- Athletic directors
- Band directors
- Booster clubs
- School and program leaders
The objective is to identify programs that need to raise money, start the conversation, and create qualified opportunities for our fundraising team.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOTYou won’t spend your day waiting for brand-new moving leads to come in.
Our other sales team members own the new-lead lane.
This position exists specifically to attack the opportunities that require outbound effort, persistence, consistent dialing,…
