Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced AI Training Specialist (Chemistry) to design, validate, and refine advanced Chemistry problems used for training and evaluating frontier AI systems. This role demands strong formal chemical reasoning, academic rigor, and the ability to translate real university-level chemistry challenges into precise, text-only problem formats suitable for AI evaluation.

Candidates should demonstrate strong depth across multiple chemistry sub-domains:

• Organic Chemistry — 3 areas
• Inorganic Chemistry — 6 areas
• Physical Chemistry — 6 areas
• Radiation Chemistry — 5 areas
• Polymer Chemistry — 6 areas
• Polymer Physics — 6 areas

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related discipline
• Strong upper-undergraduate or higher-level Chemistry background
• Fluency in written scientific English
• Strong LaTeX proficiency, including use of:
• mhchem
• chemfig
• Experience with university-level teaching, grading, or analytical research
• Exceptional attention to detail in:
• Units and dimensions
• Physical constants
• Chemical notation and conventions
• Familiarity with AI/LLM training concepts and evaluation workflows

Chemistry Domain Expertise

• Organic Chemistry
• Inorganic Chemistry
• Physical Chemistry
• Analytical Chemistry
• Polymer Chemistry & Polymer Physics
• Full command of IUPAC nomenclature and stereo chemistry (R/S, E/Z)
• Ability to write text-only chemistry problems that replace graphical chemical structures
• Experience with quantitative chemistry problems, including:
• Chemical equilibria
• Kinetics
• Thermodynamics

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Prior experience creating AI training or educational content
• Experience designing multiple-choice chemistry questions with strong, misleading-but-valid distractors
• Background in assessment design or standardized testing
