Our ecology team works closely with other disciplines to engage in projects from the outset, ensuring ecology is considered early. We drive nature‑positive schemes and design innovations that inform policy.
We value experience and a strong fit with our team, and we are open to ecologists without a university degree, working with the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) to promote inclusivity.
Your role- Work individually and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Undertake ecological assessment and habitat design for development and nature recovery projects.
- Develop innovative and pragmatic approaches to ecological mitigation and compensation.
- Collaborate within multi‑disciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders and clients.
- Deliver clear, concise, high‑quality ecological deliverables in line with current guidance and good practice.
- Act as ecology lead on projects.
- Manage tasks and projects.
- A passion for ecology.
- Good working knowledge of the natural environment and wildlife legislation.
- The ability to conduct UKHab surveys, Preliminary Ecological Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
- Good report‑writing skills.
- Strong botanical skills, including Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) level 3+ or demonstrable botanical ability matching this level.
- Experience in protected species survey, mitigation, and licensing.
- Understanding of winning work through bidding and maintaining client relationships.
- Ability to manage ecology deliverables and projects from bidding through completion.
- Membership of CIEEM or equivalent.
- Full driving licence.

Additional informationSecurity clearance may be required; offers are dependent on obtaining the relevant clearance. The vetting process is delivered by UK Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require proof of UK residency of at least five years.
