FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geology Summer Student to support our Exploration team. This is a full-time position which will work between our Saskatoon office working Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, and our McIlvenna Bay site on a rotational schedule.
The Geology Summer Student will support the Exploration team by assisting with organising and digitising geological data and records in our Saskatoon office. Through periodic work at our site, the student will also support exploration and site-based activities by supporting field programs, sampling, and core logging activities.
Responsibilities
Provide general support to office-based geologists and technical staff
Ensure documents are properly scanned, catalogued, and digitally stored
Identify gaps in documentation and support completion of digital records
Assist with data entry, compilation, and basic analysis
Support preparation of technical materials, reports, and presentations as needed
Participate in field programs at the McIlvenna Bay site
Assist with sampling programs and geological data collection
Support core logging and core handling activities
Follow all safety protocols and site procedures
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older and currently enrolled full-time in a Geology, Earth Sciences, or related post-secondary program
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Standard First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
Ability to work outdoors in an industrial environment.
Ability to demonstrate safe and efficient work practices.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Comfortable working with large volumes of data and documentation
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to travel to site and work in a field environment as required
Compensation
$22.40/hr
