Job Summary
Wildlife Biologist On-Call (Southern and East-Central California) responsible for environmental consulting services such as pre‑construction field surveys, construction compliance monitoring, avian species identification, nest surveys, and preparing biological reports.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate, plan, and execute field assignments in southern and east‑central California.
- Conduct general and species‑specific biological surveys and construction compliance monitoring pursuant to relevant environmental commitments, laws, regulations, codes, and industry standards.
- Document field findings in monitoring logs, reports, memos, and email communications.
- Communicate routinely with client field contacts, ICF project managers, and senior biologists.
- Travel to remote field sites in other counties (Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, San Bernardino, Riverside, Inyo, San Diego).
On‑call employees are scheduled for work hours as they become available and may accept or refuse hours assigned in a given week. On‑call employees may work concurrent projects outside of their ICF assignment provided there is no conflict of interest.
Requirements- A BA/BS in Wildlife Biology, Botany, Ecology, or related discipline.
- 2+ years of environmental/consulting and biological field experience.
- Prior experience conducting construction field compliance monitoring on 2+ projects (6+ months total).
- Valid driver’s license and successful Motor Vehicles Records (MVR) check.
- Avian nest monitoring and species identification with experience on 3+ projects, at least 2 in the southwestern U.S.
- Experience leading all three phases of western burrowing owl protocol surveys on 3+ projects with positive individual identification.
- Experience conducting native special status reptile or amphibian surveys on 3+ projects.
- Experience leading field surveys/trapping for small mammals on 3+ California projects with CDFW scientific collecting permit.
- Basic field observation documentation and data management experience.
- Experience in environmental compliance or construction monitoring.
- Basic botanical knowledge of east‑central and southern California with participation in 5+ field rare plant surveys and habitat mapping, at least 3 in southern/east‑central California.
- GIS software skills.
- Team collaboration, strong written and oral communication, and strong organization.
- Ability to respond timely to deployment requests.
- Ability to travel to rugged, undeveloped terrain and conduct work in active construction sites.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).

Pay Range$55,424.00 - $ (full‑time employment in California Remote Office, CA99).
