The primary purpose of this position is to perform laboratory experiments for the physicochemical characterization and conjugation of protein reagents used across multiple technology platforms, including Immunoassays, flow cytometry, IHC, and LCMS. The individual will collaborate and communicate across the organization to assure on‑time delivery of high‑quality characterized materials.
Key Responsibilities- Design, execute, and analyze LCMS, SEC, and other experiments to assess physicochemical properties of antibody and non‑antibody protein reagents.
- Develop, validate, and implement quantitative and qualitative assays using LC‑MS, SEC‑RI, and Uv‑Vis with minimal guidance.
- Develop methods for bioconjugations of antibodies and proteins.
- Refine characterization protocols and interpret results with minimal oversight.
- Compile data summaries, present results to stakeholders, and provide oversight of experimental design for junior staff.
- Assist in scientific collaborations and/or contracted research as needed.
- Serve as technical point of contact within the group and lead innovation projects related to physicochemical characterization of protein reagents.
- Troubleshoot instrument problems and maintain required training per BMS SOPs.
- Maintain notebooks and documentation as per departmental guidelines.
- Contribute to writing and presentation of findings in posters, publications, and oral presentations.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of related industry experience.
- Master’s Degree with 2+ years of related industry experience.
- Ph.D. with 0+ years of related industry experience.
- Operational and theoretical understanding of Mass Spectrometry, size exclusion chromatography, and reverse phase chromatography.
- Basic understanding of protein conjugation chemistry; experience is a plus.
- Proficient in scientific writing and verbal communication.
- Ability to work across levels and functions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills.
Princeton, NJ, US: $100,330 – $121,571 (annual salary). Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
