Nespresso is looking for an Environmental Sustainability Specialist

As Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you are responsible for implementing and leading the local environmental and sustainability strategy in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders. Nespresso's sustainability efforts encompass responsible sourcing, recycling, energy efficiency, waste reduction, circular economy initiatives, and social responsibility. We aim to minimize environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable coffee industry. You demonstrate leadership and determination to achieve these objectives.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Collaborate with national and international stakeholders to translate the environmental and sustainability strategy into local goals;
• Ensure compliance with legal obligations in the field of environment, including waste management;
• Oversee compliance with legal frameworks;
• Promote environmental and sustainability practices within the organization;
• Actively participate in external networks and stay informed about relevant sustainability topics.

The experience you’ll bring:

• Completed relevant university/HBO education or equivalent;
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience;
• Experience with ISO 14001 and as an (internal) auditor is a plus;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels;
• Provide guidance and support to employees in following and improving environmental and sustainability processes;
• Reporting and analyzing are second nature to you, as well as making connections;
• Project lead and support in relevant projects;
• Detail-oriented with the ability to think strategically and see the bigger picture;
• Solution-oriented mindset with a continuous improvement focus;
• Fluent in both Dutch and English (written and spoken).
