Position Overview

Part‑time Faculty, Environmental Studies – Physics, Astronomy, Geology & Environmental Sciences. Responsible for instructing undergraduate courses, delivering lectures, conducting labs/fieldwork, grading, and holding office hours. Primarily in person with some remote work as needed.

• Plan, organize, teach, and provide feedback to promote student success.
• Respond promptly to student inquiries and communicate through university tools.
• Deliver lectures, conduct laboratory and fieldwork sessions.
• Grade assignments and examinations.
• Hold office hours for student support.

Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments are at the YSU campus, Youngstown, Ohio.

• At least a master’s degree in environmental science, or a master’s degree in another field plus a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in environmental science.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
• Preferred: an advanced degree in environmental science and academic background featuring multiple physical‑science laboratory courses and at least two semesters of introductory environmental science courses and labs.

This is a predominantly sedentary position. Work may involve lifting, carrying, or moving objects up to 10 pounds occasionally.
