Position: Senior Advisor Lands & Right of Way (ROW)
Location: Lemont Furnace

Senior Advisor Lands & Right of Way – be the trusted link between landowners, projects, operations, and the future of energy!

What You Will Do

Provide Lands & ROW support for pipeline operations and maintenance, including damage claims, encroachment monitoring, reclamation, drainage improvements, depth‑of‑cover mitigation, and cathodic protection programs.

Serve as primary Land lead for regional initiatives and Core Projects, ensuring alignment of land scope, schedules, and stakeholder requirements.

Lead and support contractors and Land Advisors, providing direction, oversight, and quality assurance to ensure consistent deliverables and negotiation outcomes.

Develop and standardize Land Operations procedures, policies, templates, and agreements to improve efficiency and consistency across the organization.

Advise internal stakeholders and cross‑functional teams on land‑related technical issues, while coordinating with regulators, landowners, and government agencies to ensure compliance.

Prepare, review, and manage land agreements and legal instruments, leveraging GIS tools and data systems to support accurate tracking and regulatory compliance.

Who You Are
  • 6+ years of related right‑of‑way experience in progressive roles and a Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma (or equivalent post‑secondary education). Extensions allowed for non‑degree holders (3 extra years or 2 extra years for diploma).
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and Indigenous/Sovereign Nation regulations related to ROW activities and landowner responsibilities.
  • Experience managing ROW for Core Projects and Programs, with knowledge of pipeline systems, facility interactions, and land acquisition/easement requirements.
  • Ability to interpret legal plans, titles, deeds, engineering drawings, and land documentation, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, GIS, and land systems, with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of pipeline operations and negotiations preferred, along with a valid driver’s license. IRWA or equivalent designation desirable.
Working Conditions
  • Work performed in typical office environment with extensive travel (80%) to meet partners and visit field locations within the operating region.
  • Physical requirements include light‑to‑moderate lifting (up to 20 lbs), kneeling, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, and visual/hearing needs for screen use.
  • Mental requirements, both field and office, include understanding complex problems, organizing work, making moderate‑impact decisions, and communicating effectively.
  • A valid driver’s license and responsible driving record are required.
