Job SummaryThe Department of Cardiac Surgery is seeking a temporary research assistant to support various activities related to one of our federally funded grants. This individual will report directly to the Project Senior Manager within the Section of Health Services Research and Quality in the Department of Cardiac Surgery in support of efforts to advance research and quality through the use of intraoperative video recordings.
The individual will assist with the review of digital recording of operations.
In this role, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to:
- View digitally recorded cardiac surgical operations and assist the study team in the quality assessment of these recordings.
- Assess transferred data (e.g., data quality parameters, missing files, peer assessments, surgical registry data).
- Interact with study investigators, grant coordinator, and administrative staff members.
- Develop an understanding of administrative and research processes/procedures in an academic medical center.
- Assessment and management of other study-related activities.
- Participate in publications deriving from study data.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent organization, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated excellence in performance, such as following through on tasks and paying close attention to details.
- Computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft office software products.
