Core Cutting Technician

Experience the thrill of geological exploration as a Core Cutting Technician on seasonal projects across Canada. This field-based role involves cutting, sampling, and maintaining cores within an expedition camp environment.

As a Core Cutting Technician, you will contribute to exploration programs by handling and preparing drill cores, ensuring samples meet geological and quality standards. Key skills include operating saws and splitters, following safety protocols, and recording accurate data. This seasonal position offers a rotation of 21 days on and 7 days off, working with a dedicated geological team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely handle and prepare drill cores for sampling

• Accurately cut and split core samples per specifications

• Collect, bag, and label core samples for analysis

• Maintain core cutting equipment diligently

• Document sampling and core cutting activities

Requirements:

• Background in Geological Sciences or related field

• Certification in Standard First Aid Level C, CPR & AED

• Previous experience in core sampling preferred

• Ability to work in remote locations

• Responsible for personal gear maintenance
