Job Description & How to Apply Below
Revolv
We are a space startup based in Turin, transitioning into the production and maintenance of solar arrays for space applications. Our team is international, young and collaborative, with around 30 people and plans to grow to 40 by year end.
THE ROLE
This role will lead the development of our in‑house photovoltaic assembly process for space‑grade solar arrays, directly shaping how we build and test panels going forward.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Assemble photovoltaic cells into panels through cell bonding, lamination and thermal stack‑up processes.
Perform soldering of PV cells to build reliable electrical interconnections for space‑grade panels.
Run testing campaigns on cells and assembled panels to validate performance and structural integrity.
Define and refine internal assembly procedures, building a repeatable process from current ad‑hoc practices.
Support occasional testing sessions at external facilities, analyzing results and feeding them back into the assembly process.
TECHNICAL CONTEXT
System: solar arrays and photovoltaic panels for space applications.
Core activities: cell bonding, lamination, thermal stack‑up, soldering, cell and panel testing.
Environment: startup lab and assembly facility, with hands‑on phases requiring on‑site presence in Turin.
Distinctive constraints: space‑grade quality requirements, autonomy in building processes from scratch.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Hands‑on experience assembling photovoltaic cells into panels, including cell bonding, lamination and thermal stack‑up.
Hands‑on experience in soldering of PV cells.
Experience in testing of PV cells and panels.
Availability to work on‑site in Turin during hands‑on phases, and comfort with the autonomy and uncertainty typical of a startup environment.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Background in the space or aerospace sector.
Professional experience genuinely hands‑on in PV cell assembly, whether from an engineering or technical background.
PhD in a photovoltaic‑related field combined with hands‑on assembly experience.
WHAT WE OFFER
Location:
Turin.
Work mode: flexible — remote work possible during research and study phases, on‑site presence required during hands‑on assembly and testing phases.
Travel: occasional trips to test facilities, typically 1–2 days.
Compensation package: gross annual salary 65,000–75,000€.
