Position: Hydrologist with Remote Sensing Focus
The Alberta Geological Survey seeks a skilled Hydrologist to leverage remote sensing technologies. This full-time role entails advanced mapping of groundwater ecosystems within Alberta's oil sands regions.

As a member of the Groundwater Geoscience Team, you will focus on characterizing crucial groundwater conditions, significantly impacting Alberta's natural resource management. Your responsibilities will engage you in integrating various datasets and developing ecological maps through sophisticated techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess interactions between groundwater and surface water

• Process multispectral and thermal imagery for ecosystem mapping

• Integrate remote sensing data with geological datasets

• Support mapping of groundwater-dependent ecosystems

• Deliver presentations to stakeholders and collaborators

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in hydrology, remote sensing, or related field

• 5-7 years of industry or academic experience

• Strong knowledge of remote-sensing methods

• Proficiency in GIS applications and hydrogeological analysis

• Experience in programming, including Python and R
