Position: Knowledge Exchange Facilitator

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Engineering Research Support Office for a Knowledge Exchange Facilitator, who will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Engineering's portfolio of world‑class research.

The Engineering Research Support Office is a fast‑paced and dynamic environment, where every day is different. The current team (10 staff) has established a reputation for delivering high workloads and quality of service, implementing process changes and working collaboratively across the university and beyond, under the leadership of the Head of Research Support.

Responsibilities
  • Identify new industry partners
  • Work with businesses to develop research opportunities
  • Support academics in developing and sustaining research impact and knowledge exchange
  • Promote translation of research outputs into commercial propositions
  • Coordinate activities to increase engagement with industry
Qualifications
  • Educated to at least degree level or possess an equivalent level of practical experience
  • Enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Enjoy liaising with academia and industry
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a larger team
Additional Information

The role provides an element of flexibility, including working from home in line with the Department's and University's evolving policy on new ways of working. However, it is expected that the role holder will work at least three days a week in the office – both at our Trumpington Street site and at West Cambridge.

Fixed‑term:
The funds for this post are available until 4 May 2028.
