Ecological Solutions, Inc. provides a wide range of terrestrial and aquatic studies that support both public and private sector projects. The firm’s services include wetland assessments, protected species surveys, stream restoration, mitigation, NEPA compliance, and various other field investigations.

Role Description

The Wetlands/General Ecologist is a full-time, hybrid role based in Roswell, GA, with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting field work in wetlands and other habitats, performing wildlife and botanical surveys, and collecting ecological data in accordance with project requirements and regulatory guidelines. The role involves using GIS software to prepare deliverables, preparing technical reports, supporting environmental impact assessments, and assisting with permitting documentation for projects primarily located in Georgia.

The ecologist will collaborate with project managers and team members to plan field efforts, ensure data quality, and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders. Travel (ranges from one night to several weeks at a time) and outdoor work in varying weather and terrain conditions should be expected.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with wildlife surveys and general wildlife ecology.
  • Strong skills in field work, including data collection, habitat assessment, and use of standard ecological field methods.
  • Familiarity with ArcGiS.
  • Proficiency in botany, including identification of regional plant species and familiarity with wetland vegetation.
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in ecology, biology, environmental science, or a closely related field.
  • Comfort working outdoors in a variety of conditions and willingness to travel for field assignments.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities; familiarity with GIS and standard office software is beneficial.
