The Alberta Geological Survey is seeking a dedicated Hydrologist with extensive remote sensing expertise to enhance its Groundwater Geoscience Team. In this position, you will utilize your knowledge of hydrology to create watershed-scale mapping in Alberta's oil sands, particularly the Athabasca and Cold Lake regions.
Your role involves integrating advanced datasets and collaborating with a diverse team while requiring strong communication skills and innovative thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess hydrological interactions in oil sands areas
• Process remote sensing data for ecosystem mapping
• Integrate geological and hydrogeological data
• Prepare presentations and reports for stakeholders
• Create high-quality maps using ArcGIS
Requirements:
•
B.Sc. in remote sensing, hydrology, or related field
• 5-7 years of relevant experience
• Expertise in groundwater-surface water interactions
• Proficient in ArcGIS and image processing software
• Strong communication skills for scientific reporting
