Position Details

Inventory Forester – Full Time – Tomahawk, WI

Responsibilities
  • Inventory data collection with required speed and precision based on project needs
  • Record detailed tree data from field observations using a tablet and internal software
  • Make calculations on tree diameters, heights, species, and product sections within plots
  • Use sub‑meter GPS for plot location collection, monumentation, and boundary access
  • Coordinate with property managers to understand concerns, hazards, and access details
  • Collaborate with other inventory foresters to maximize efficiency and maintain safety
  • Plan for periodic travel that may exceed 50 percent in and out of state
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Forestry or related field
  • Travel ability with overnight work, up to 50 percent or more
  • Interest in emerging markets, ecosystem services, and forest carbon
  • Desire to build a career in natural resource consulting
  • Independent, self‑directed work in field and client environments
  • Strong written and oral communications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with GPS data collection and processing
  • Experience with ESRI GIS software and GIS mapping principles
  • Valid driver’s license with personal vehicle suitable for forestry work (mileage reimbursed)
  • ATV and snowmobile certifications
  • Team player: confident, respectful, curious, and flexible
Work Environment

Hybrid work model:
Approximately 95 percent field work and 5 percent office work. Remote work is available upon supervisor approval.

Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience.
