Job Description
GEC is currently seeking a growth-oriented full-time Senior Scientist/Geologist with 5-10+ years of office and field experience. Preferred experience includes Phase I ESA and Contamination Screening Evaluation Report (CSER) preparation, Phase II/Level 2 ESA field work and report preparation with an emphasis on roadway studies for FDOT, CFX and FTE. As a senior level person, your responsibilities would include interacting with clients, reading project plans, preparing project scopes, fees, and proposals, project management, mentoring junior scientists and reviewing work performed by others.
In addition, working from a remote office in DeLand, Florida on an as-needed basis.

As a senior level person, your responsibilities would include interacting with clients, reading project plans, preparing project scopes, fees, and proposals, project management, mentoring junior scientists and reviewing work performed by others.
In addition, working from a remote office in DeLand, Florida on an as-needed basis.
- Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
- Perform Contamination Screening Evaluation Reports.
- Perform Phase II/Level 2 Environmental Site Assessments.
- Preparing technical write-ups, marketing, and presentation materials.
- Prepare proposals and price estimates.
- Review technical reports for completeness and accuracy.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher with a focus in Geology and Environmental Sciences.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Perform office work including data research and interpretation, including report and proposal preparation, and report review
- Capable of directing environmental groundwater and soil sampling assignments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work within project constraints and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail with analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities
