Senior SEND EHCP Officer (Statutory) – Fully Remote

We Do Social Work Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior SEND EHCP Officer to join a Local Authority on a fully remote basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced SEND professional with a strong background in statutory EHCP casework who is confident managing complex cases, leading on annual reviews, and supporting service improvement.

The Role

As a Senior SEND EHCP Officer, you will manage a complex caseload of children and young people aged 0–25, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met throughout the Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment and review process. You will work collaboratively with education, health and social care professionals, families and schools to deliver high-quality outcomes while maintaining compliance with statutory legislation and timescales.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing complex statutory EHCP casework from assessment through to annual review and reassessment.

Leading and chairing Annual Reviews and multi-agency meetings.

Producing high-quality, legally compliant Education, Health and Care Plans.

Preparing tribunal documentation and supporting tribunal processes where required.

Providing guidance and mentoring to EHCP Officers on complex cases.

Working collaboratively with schools, parents, health professionals and social care colleagues.

Supporting transitions for children and young people across key stages, including post-16 provision.

Contributing to service improvement initiatives and promoting best practice across the SEND service.

Essential Requirements

We are looking for candidates who have:

Significant experience working within a Local Authority SEND service.

Extensive statutory EHCP experience managing complex casework.

Previous experience in a Senior SEND EHCP Officer or equivalent senior statutory SEND role.

Strong working knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice, and associated legislation.

Experience of tribunal preparation and complex decision-making.

Excellent communication, report writing and stakeholder management skills.

The ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while managing competing priorities.
