Job descriptionJob Summary
The Product Development Specialist is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating HM.CLAUSE vegetable seed trials. This role provides the technical foundation and market insight that support product advancement, sales growth, and successful product introductions. The position combines hands on field work with customer interaction, data driven evaluation, and cross functional communication.
You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:
Provides a high level of service and product information to customers.
Develops and implements annual trial plans to identify new varieties that will meet customer needs, ensuring timely seed sample availability.
Establishes, maintains, and evaluates product development trials and analyzes the resulting product performance data to determine strengths, weaknesses, features and benefits of new products and makes product advancement recommendations to Sales and Marketing colleagues.
Develops and implements product development action plans to build a sustainable pipeline of products.
Monitors market trends and competitive landscape.
Builds in-depth knowledge about key competitor products.
Works closely with the Western USA Sales Manager, Technical Sales Representatives, Product Managers, Breeders and associates. Provides detailed monthly Product Development reports.
Manages HMC variety portfolio for the Region, by developing localized trial plans with TSRs, and managing distribution of HMC seed.
Responsible for trial evaluations throughout the region
Aides in trial evaluations throughout the region
Participates in trade shows, field days and other product development related events.
Contributes to the resolution of product performance issues with customers in collaboration with the sales team.
What we expect of youTo be considered, you will need:
Minimum of a B.S. in Agronomy, Agribusiness or Horticulture, or equivalent field and/or 3+ years of experience in the Vegetable industry preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
