About the Role
Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Geophysicist to join their globally distributed, remote-first exploration team. This position is focused on advanced seismic data interpretation to identify and evaluate hydrocarbon potential in new and existing basins for their Oil & Gas ventures. You will be instrumental in defining exploration strategies, integrating multi-disciplinary data, and mentoring junior geoscientists. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in seismic data processing and interpretation, a strong understanding of structural and strati graphic principles, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, remote working environment, contributing significantly to the company's resource discovery efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Perform advanced seismic data interpretation, including structural and strati graphic analysis, to identify potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
- Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other geological information to build comprehensive subsurface models.
- Utilize state-of-the-art geophysical software and methodologies for data processing and interpretation.
- Assess geological risks and uncertainties associated with exploration prospects.
- Collaborate closely with exploration geologists, reservoir engineers, and management to define exploration strategies and drilling targets.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior geophysicists and geoscientists.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Physics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in geophysical exploration, with a strong focus on seismic interpretation in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Expertise in using industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Hampson Russell, Geo Depth).
- Solid understanding of seismic processing techniques and their impact on interpretation.
- Experience with basin analysis and prospect evaluation.
