About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Exploration Geologist to join their globally distributed team, supporting operations primarily in the Cape Town region. This position is integral to identifying and evaluating new mineral prospects through advanced data analysis and remote sensing techniques. You will work collaboratively with a diverse, international team from the comfort of your home office, leveraging cutting-edge technology to drive exploration strategies.
This role is perfect for an independent, detail-oriented geologist who excels at virtual collaboration and is passionate about discovering new mineral resources without the need for on-site presence.
- Analyze geological datasets including geochemical assays, geophysical surveys, and remote sensing data.
- Utilize GIS and specialized geological software to interpret data and generate exploration targets.
- Collaborate virtually with field geologists and project managers to refine exploration plans.
- Contribute to the development of conceptual and 3D geological models based on integrated data.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and summaries for remote project reviews.
- Stay abreast of the latest exploration technologies and methodologies applicable to remote work.
- Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral exploration, with a focus on data analysis.
- Demonstrated expertise in using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and geological modeling tools.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex geological datasets remotely.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective virtual collaboration.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
