Research Scientist - Environmental Chemistry

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist with expertise in Environmental Chemistry to join their innovative, fully remote research division. This role is instrumental in investigating the fate and transport of chemical contaminants in various environmental matrices. You will be responsible for designing and executing analytical methodologies, interpreting complex data, and contributing to solutions for environmental challenges. • Design and conduct laboratory experiments to analyze environmental samples (water, soil, air) for chemical contaminants.
• Develop and validate new analytical methods using techniques such as GC-MS, LC-MS, and ICP-MS.
• Interpret complex analytical data, identify trends, and draw conclusions regarding environmental processes.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, scientific manuscripts, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with environmental engineers and toxicologists to assess risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Stay current with advancements in analytical chemistry, environmental science, and regulatory standards.

• PhD or Master's degree in Environmental Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in environmental sample analysis and analytical instrumentation.
• Proficiency with advanced analytical techniques like GC-MS , LC-MS , and elemental analysis.
• Strong understanding of environmental chemistry principles, contaminant fate, and transport mechanisms.
• Experience with data analysis and statistical interpretation of environmental monitoring data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
