About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative and analytical Agronomist to join their team, offering remote consultation services to farms across various regions, including the Centurion area. You will be responsible for providing expert advice on crop production, soil management, and sustainable farming practices to optimize yield and quality. This role requires a deep understanding of plant science, soil chemistry, and environmental factors affecting agriculture.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of developing tailored solutions for diverse farming challenges and driving agricultural advancements through remote advisory services.
- Provide expert agronomic advice on crop selection, planting, fertilization, and pest/disease management.
- Conduct remote analysis of soil samples, farm data, and satellite imagery to diagnose issues and recommend solutions.
- Develop customized crop management plans to maximize yield, improve quality, and ensure sustainability.
- Stay abreast of the latest research, technologies, and best practices in agronomy and agricultural science.
- Advise on irrigation strategies, water management, and conservation techniques.
- Document recommendations and follow up with clients to assess the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
- Master's or PhD degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Crop Science, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in agronomic research, consulting, or farm management.
- Expert knowledge of crop physiology, soil fertility, and plant pathology.
- Proven ability to analyze complex agricultural data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly for remote client interaction.
- Familiarity with precision agriculture technologies and data management tools.
