Lead Petroleum Geologist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dynamic Lead Petroleum Geologist to oversee geological exploration and development activities from their Kimberley office. This key role involves leading geological teams, interpreting complex subsurface data, and identifying new resource opportunities within the Oil & Gas sector. You will be instrumental in guiding exploration strategies, assessing prospectivity, and managing geological risks. • Lead the geological evaluation of exploration acreage and existing fields.
• Develop and refine geological models based on seismic, well log, and core data.
• Manage geological risks and uncertainties associated with exploration and development projects.
• Mentor and guide junior geologists and geoscientists.
• Prepare and present geological interpretations and recommendations to management and partners.

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in Geology or Petroleum Geology.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in petroleum exploration geology, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in seismic interpretation, well correlation, and sequence stratigraphy.
• Proficiency with geological software suites (e.g., Petrel, Geo Graphix).
• Strong understanding of depositional environments and hydrocarbon systems.
