Job Description

The Project Information Manager will provide project administration and information management support across both home-office and field operations. The position requires strong knowledge of document management practices and the ability to manage information workflows that support engineering and construction activities. The role will interface with multiple project functions to maintain effective documentation processes while supporting the timely and cost-effective flow of project information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project administration activities relating to document and information management across home-office and field environments.
  • Oversee internal and external document review processes.
  • Maintain appropriate document configuration management in support of engineering and construction activities.
  • Apply strong working knowledge of enterprise document management systems, relational databases, and internet-based project collaboration systems.
  • Coordinate documentation activities with project material control, scheduling, and expediting functions.
  • Interface with client engineering teams on project documentation and information requirements.
  • Support the time and cost effectiveness of documentation activities through coordinated information management processes.
  • Lead the information management function on small to medium-sized projects.
  • Maintain effective information flow between relevant project disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Delegate work assignments to subordinate personnel and supervise their execution.
  • Evaluate the work performed by assigned team members.
  • Mentor and train personnel when required.
  • Provide necessary training to Project Information Management department staff.
Information Management Focus

The position requires a high level of competency in project documentation and information control. Particular emphasis is placed on enterprise document management, relational databases, collaborative project systems, document review workflows, and configuration management supporting engineering and construction delivery. The Project Information Manager will also work across related project controls and engineering interfaces, helping ensure documentation activities remain coordinated with material control, scheduling, expediting, and client requirements.

Qualifications
  • A relevant degree is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of project information and document management activities.
  • Strong proficiency in enterprise document management systems.
  • Working capability with relational databases.
  • Proficiency with internet-based project collaboration systems.
  • Ability to lead an information management function on a small to medium-sized project.
  • Ability to supervise, delegate, mentor, evaluate, and train information management personnel.
