Agricultural Agronomist

Our client is looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Agricultural Agronomist to provide expert advice and support to growers in the Polokwane region. This hybrid role involves assessing crop health, soil conditions, and environmental factors to recommend optimal planting, fertilization, pest control, and harvesting strategies. You will work closely with farmers, offering both on-site consultations and remote technical support, helping them achieve higher yields and improve the quality of their produce.

Your insights will be crucial in promoting sustainable and efficient farming practices tailored to local conditions.

• Conduct soil and plant tissue analysis to assess nutrient levels and identify deficiencies or toxicities.
• Develop and recommend tailored fertilization programs and crop rotation plans.
• Monitor crop development, identify potential pest and disease outbreaks, and advise on management strategies.
• Provide guidance on irrigation techniques and water management to optimize crop growth.
• Educate farmers on the latest agronomic research, sustainable practices, and new crop varieties.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, or a related agricultural field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Agronomist or Crop Consultant.
• Strong knowledge of plant physiology, soil science, and integrated pest management (IPM).
• Familiarity with crop modeling software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective farmer engagement.
