A Day in the Life

Our Brownfields & Community Revitalization Practice provides integrated services to assist communities with building successful programs to achieve their brownfield redevelopment and community revitalization goals. Our network of funding and grant writing specialists has assisted a wide range of local/regional/tribal organizations with numerous EPA Brownfield & Contaminated ANCSA Lands Grants (as well as funding from other federal and state programs). We develop strategies to finance and eliminate funding gaps in support of all types of environmental restoration projects.

Once funding is secured, we serve as our client’s trusted partner for grant management and reporting, community outreach and stakeholder engagement, and executing Phase I/II ESAs, cleanup/restoration, and reuse planning activities. Our work has led to award-winning projects, and our staff has established long-term relationships with some of the most successful programs in the country.

This is a remote position open to candidates based in Alaska, with experience supporting environmental site assessment and remediation projects within the state.

The annual salary range for this role is $85,000-$120,000 per year, commensurate with accomplishments, performance, and credentials.

To thrive in this role,you’llbe comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

• Planning, executing, and/or overseeing Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), remediation, and/or site-specific reuse and/or area-wide planning/design activities.

• Assisting with project fieldwork throughout Alaska, including site reconnaissance, brownfield inventories, soil, groundwater, soil vapor, surface water and other media sampling, and remediation at various locations.

• Collecting field data in an organized and concise manner, consistent with corporate and client standard operating procedures and work plans.

• Exercise safe work practices by following all Onterris and client safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.

• Supervision of subconsultants and subcontractors in the field.

• Consult with senior staff to prepare work plans and technical reports, data interpretation, and development of graphical presentations.

• Exercises judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

• Responsible for project budget and hours and utilizes time effectively to complete tasks within the assigned timeframe(s).

• Communicates to leadership when issues arise that may inhibit performing tasks within the allotted schedule and budget.

• Assisting with project management/grant administration for multiple grant-funded projects.

• Grant application support, including assisting senior grant writers with preparing and submitting grant applications.

• Additional duties as may be assigned.
