About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to join their dynamic team, working remotely with field oversight across exploration projects, including those in the Kimberley region. This role is central to discovering and delineating new mineral resources, requiring a deep understanding of exploration techniques, geological interpretation, and project management. You will lead exploration programs, interpret complex geological data, and collaborate with geoscientists and management to advance project potential.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned geologist to drive exploration success remotely.
- Design, manage, and execute regional and project-scale exploration programs.
- Conduct detailed geological mapping, prospecting, and sampling campaigns.
- Interpret and integrate geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify and prioritize targets.
- Oversee drilling programs, including core logging, structural analysis, and QA/QC of samples.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and exploration updates for management.
- Manage exploration budgets and project timelines effectively.
- MSc or PhD in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in mineral exploration, with a proven track record of discoveries.
- Strong expertise in the geology of South Africa and specific commodity types (e.g., diamonds, base metals).
- Proficiency in geological software such as Leapfrog, ArcGIS, and database management tools.
- Experience with various exploration techniques and geophysical methods.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
