- This position supports the National Weather Service in transitioning JEDI data assimilation to operations.
- Focus on developing and testing components for the Unified Forecast System.
- Develop, evaluate, and test JEDI-based assimilation developments.
- Transition observation modeling and quality control to JEDI.
- Support atmospheric model interface integration.
- Knowledge of variational and ensemble data assimilation techniques.
- Proficiency in FORTRAN, Python, or C++.
- Experience with HPC environments and scripting languages.
