Job DescriptionAbout Science and Technology Corporation (STC):
STC is a science, sensors, and systems company founded in 1979. We continually expand our Earth and Space Sciences support capabilities to NASA, NOAA, DoD, and other Federal and State agencies. Our staff support many of the operational missions that monitor the heartbeat of our planet through a growing number of Earth Observing System of Systems platforms and direct field research.
We also research and investigate leading-edge observing technologies and assist in their integration into operations.

- Location:The primary place of performance is the NIST campus in Gaithersburg, MD, with remote work possible when coordinated in advance.
- Travel: Anticipated for several conferences per year

Specific duties will include:
- Prepare samples for INAA, PGAA, and ICP-OES analysis, including homogenization and acid digestions
- Perform INAA, PGAA, and ICP-OES analyses, including counting irradiated samples and analyzing gamma spectra
- Create new multi-element INAA standards and assess neutron flux corrections using metal foil monitors
- Document results and metadata, submit monthly progress reports, and present findings in papers, posters, or conference presentations

- At least 5 years of experience, or equivalent theoretical knowledge, in neutron activation techniques
- At least 5 years of experience conducting neutron activation experiments at a nuclear reactor facility
Experience:
HPGe gamma spectroscopy, ICP-OES, sample digestion methods, work with certified reference materials, and peer-reviewed publications.
