Agricultural Technologist

Our client is seeking a skilled Agricultural Technologist to support their operations in Mossel Bay . This hybrid role involves both practical, hands-on technical support in the field and remote data analysis/reporting. You will assist in implementing and monitoring agricultural technologies, ensuring the efficient operation of farm equipment, and collecting vital data for analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, a solid understanding of agricultural principles, and the ability to work effectively across both field and digital environments.

• Assist in the implementation, calibration, and maintenance of agricultural technologies, including sensors, GPS systems, and automated irrigation.
• Collect, record, and analyze field data related to crop growth, soil conditions, weather patterns, and equipment performance.
• Operate and maintain various farm machinery and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Support farm managers and agronomists in implementing best practices for crop management and pest control.
• Troubleshoot technical issues with farm equipment and technology, providing timely solutions.
• Prepare technical reports and summaries based on collected field data for remote review.

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Technology, Agronomy, or a related agricultural science.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical role within the agricultural sector.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining agricultural machinery and equipment.
• Experience with data collection tools, agricultural software, and basic data analysis.
• Ability to work effectively in both field conditions and a remote/office setting.
