About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Subsurface Geoscientist to join their exploration and appraisal team, operating entirely remotely. This critical role involves the in-depth analysis and interpretation of geological and geophysical data to identify and characterize potential hydrocarbon reservoirs. You will integrate diverse datasets, build subsurface models, and provide expert recommendations to guide exploration and development strategies. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced geoscientist who thrives in an independent, remote work environment and possesses a strong analytical acumen to contribute significantly to the success of the Oil & Gas industry 's exploration efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret and integrate geological, geophysical (seismic, gravity, magnetic), and well data to build comprehensive subsurface models.
- Conduct prospectivity assessments, risk analysis, and volumetric calculations for potential hydrocarbon accumulations.
- Utilize advanced geological modeling and interpretation software to visualize and analyze subsurface structures.
- Collaborate effectively with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and other team members remotely.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, maps, and presentations for management and exploration committees.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of exploration and appraisal programs, providing critical subsurface insights.
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in subsurface interpretation and modeling within the Oil & Gas sector .
- Proficiency in geological software packages (e.g., Petrel, Landmark, Roxar) and seismic interpretation tools.
- Strong understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy, sedimentology, and basin analysis.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills tailored for remote work.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate technical findings clearly in a remote-first setting.
