Senior Geoscientist

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Geoscientist to join their exploration team, working remotely to support operations in and around Richards Bay . This pivotal role involves the interpretation of subsurface data, geological modeling, and risk assessment to identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon resources. You will collaborate closely with reservoir engineers and exploration managers to contribute to strategic decision-making regarding exploration targets.

• Perform integrated interpretation of seismic, well log, and core data to build detailed geological models.
• Identify and evaluate prospects and leads, assessing geological risks and uncertainties.
• Utilize advanced geological software for data processing, visualization, and interpretation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geological insights into field development plans.
• Mentor junior geoscientists and contribute to the team's technical development.
• Prepare and present geological reports and recommendations to management.

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in oil and gas exploration , with a strong emphasis on subsurface interpretation.
• Proficiency in seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite) and geological modeling tools.
• Solid understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology relevant to petroleum systems.
• Experience in the South African geological context or similar frontier basins is highly advantageous.
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and collaboration skills for remote work .
