Job Description & How to Apply Below
About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Geophysicist specializing in seismic interpretation to join their fully remote exploration team. You will be responsible for analyzing vast seismic datasets to identify subsurface structures and potential hydrocarbon plays. This role requires a deep understanding of seismic data processing, attribute analysis, and 3D visualization techniques. Working independently from a remote location, you will contribute critical insights that guide exploration and appraisal strategies.
You will collaborate virtually with geologists, reservoir engineers, and management to assess prospectivity and mitigate exploration risks.
- Process, interpret, and integrate 2D and 3D seismic data to identify geological structures and potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
- Utilize advanced seismic interpretation software and techniques, including attribute analysis and inversion.
- Collaborate remotely with geologists to integrate seismic interpretations with well log and geological models.
- Evaluate the quality and coverage of seismic data, recommending acquisition or reprocessing where necessary.
- Assess geological and geophysical risks associated with exploration prospects.
- Prepare clear and concise reports, maps, and presentations of seismic interpretations and prospect evaluations.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geophysics, Earth Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in seismic interpretation within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, Hampson Russell).
- Strong understanding of seismic data processing principles, acquisition methods, and seismic modeling.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex geological settings.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills suitable for a remote work environment.
- Competitive salary and potential for performance bonuses.
- Fully remote work arrangement providing exceptional flexibility.
- Opportunity to work with large, high-quality seismic datasets.
- Access to state-of-the-art geophysical software and technologies.
- Continuous professional development and training opportunities.
- Engaging and collaborative virtual team environment.
