Our client is seeking a highly qualified Soil Scientist to join their team in a fully remote capacity, focusing on promoting sustainable agriculture practices across South Africa. This role will involve analyzing soil data, developing best management practices for soil health, and providing expert guidance to farms and agricultural organizations. You will contribute to research and initiatives aimed at enhancing soil fertility, minimizing erosion, and optimizing nutrient use efficiency.

- Conduct comprehensive analysis of soil samples and data to assess soil health, fertility, and suitability for various crops.
- Develop and recommend strategies for improving soil structure, nutrient content, and water retention.
- Advise on best practices for soil conservation, erosion control, and sustainable land management.
- Research the impact of different agricultural inputs and practices on soil ecosystems.
- Collaborate with agronomists, farmers, and researchers to implement and monitor soil health initiatives.
- Prepare detailed scientific reports, presentations, and publications on soil science findings and recommendations.
- A Master's degree or PhD in Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
- Extensive experience in soil analysis, interpretation, and management, with a strong focus on sustainable agriculture.
- Proven knowledge of soil chemistry, physics, biology, and their interactions in agricultural systems.
- Experience with GIS and remote sensing technologies for soil mapping and analysis is a plus.
- Excellent scientific writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote work environment.
