Geophysicist

Our client is seeking a skilled Geophysicist to join their exploration and production team in Richards Bay. This hybrid role offers a blend of remote work flexibility and essential on-site collaboration. You will be responsible for interpreting seismic data, identifying potential hydrocarbon reservoirs, and contributing to subsurface geological models. Your work will be critical in guiding exploration efforts and assessing prospective ventures.

• Process and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to identify subsurface structures and potential hydrocarbon traps.
• Integrate geophysical data with geological and engineering information to build comprehensive subsurface models.
• Conduct geophysical attribute analysis and inversion studies to enhance reservoir characterization.
• Evaluate the risk and uncertainty associated with exploration prospects and development opportunities.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations of geophysical findings for technical and management audiences.

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, or a closely related earth science discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in exploration geophysics, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency with industry-standard seismic processing and interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Hampson Russell).
• Strong understanding of seismic acquisition, processing workflows, and geological principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment.
