Senior Geologist - Remote Exploration

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Geologist to join their globally distributed exploration team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the world. You will be instrumental in identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon prospects, utilizing advanced geological interpretation techniques and vast datasets. The role requires a deep understanding of sedimentary basins, seismic interpretation, and regional geology within the oil and gas sector .

You will work collaboratively with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and other exploration professionals to support strategic decision-making and de-risk exploration opportunities. • Perform geological mapping and interpretation of seismic data , well logs, and core samples to identify potential hydrocarbon traps.
• Develop and refine geological models for exploration and appraisal targets, integrating diverse geological datasets.
• Evaluate and quantify exploration risks and uncertainties associated with geological plays.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of exploration programs, including seismic surveys and geological fieldwork.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geological insights into exploration portfolio management and strategic planning.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and prospect evaluations for management review.

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in geological exploration, with a strong focus on the oil and gas industry .
• Expertise in seismic interpretation , sequence stratigraphy, and basin analysis.
• Proficiency with geological modeling and interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom).
• Demonstrated success in identifying and maturing exploration prospects.
